Mari Jo Mast and the Help Club for Moms Team (More can be read about this on Day 7 of The Joy Challenge for Moms in the Joy-Filled idea) Like a mighty battering ram, it helps them defeat the enemy and walk confidently in God’s divine purpose for their lives! It exposes Satan’s tactics and renders him powerless. Help me to discipline my thought life with all my heart. I want to have a positive mind and life, honoring You in my thoughts. Moms, it’s super important for our children to know and believe God’s Word. A Prayer for Godly Thoughts Lord, I pray that You would help me take every thought captive and think about whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy ( Philippians 4:8 ). I cannot wait to share them with him this afternoon when he comes home! I want him to hide God’s precious words in his heart, so they continue to shape and mold his life. While he is gone I’m doing a more in-depth study, looking for even more truth with Scripture references. He needed to be reminded of his true identity as a Believer – what God says. I felt hope rise in his spirit and God’s joy returning in him. I took some time to speak the truth (what God says about him) and prayed with my son. My child is chosen, holy, beloved, compassionate, kind, humble, meek, patient and forgiving ( Colossians 3:12-13 ).My child can do ALL things through Christ ( Philippians 4:13 ).My child is alive in Christ ( Colossians 2:13-14 ).My child is a New Creation ( 2 Corinthians 5:17 ).My child is God’s child ( 1 John 3:2 ).My child is dearly loved ( Malachi 3:17 ).My Child is already forgiven ( 1 John 2:12, John 3:16, Eph.It would have been easy to agree, but the Lord gently reminded me – although these feelings feel super real to my child in the moment, they are NOT true according to the Word (therefore the lies cannot be validated). Tears welled up and spilled over as he shared the lies he was believing about himself. This morning I sat down with one of my boys (to spend time with him before he went to school). Many times Satan whispers lies in their ears that are too easy to believe (Just like he does to us moms)! God sees perfection (Jesus) in them, but our children many times live out or act according to their natural belief about themselves. This takes a renewing of the mind according to the Word. Even though they are saved, they can still believe lies about themselves it’s hard for them to see how wonderfully God views them. I only produce God-like thoughts always, in Jesus name. I am a wonder to my world, and I produce wonderful thoughts and act in the most excellent of ways because I have Your mind. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. Thank You Lord for bringing me into Your class of excellence, giving me Your mind and causing me to think and act just like You. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. We can only think and act the way God will, because we have the mind of Christ. It’s not the place of the natural man to know how supernatural men like us think and act. They cannot relate with them because they are spiritually discern. Our thoughts and ways cannot be understood by men. We can safely say like God: “for my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways…for as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:8-9). Truth is, our thoughts are God’s own thoughts, because we are gods. Hallelujah!!! Our thoughts and ways are of the highest quality and excellent just like God’s. This is possible because we have the very mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16). For us who are in Christ, our thoughts and ways are now like God’s, higher than that of the world’s. Yes, God’s thoughts and ways are higher than man, but not for the saved, justified, called and glorified man. This involves studying God’s Word with a view to grasping his thoughts, meditating on them, and bringing our thinking into alignment with God’s thinking. This is because God is supernatural, while man is so natural. While God’s thoughts and actions or ways are of the highest quality, man’s thoughts and ways cannot be written home about. His thoughts and ways are far removed from man’s just as the heaven is far removed from the earth. The disparity that exist between the way God thinks and act to that of man, is summed up in our opening text. He is not man, and so cannot reason and act like man.
